Our reflection today is about making a Resolution for 2016 or to resolve to renew and remind ourselves of the promises we made when we said I Love You. Relationships take daily work. Reminders assist us to look at our decisions and to reaffirm their intent and purpose.
This New Year, let’s Resolve to remember: for better/worse; sickness/health; love, honor, respect, and cherish our partner each day. How was last year? What are we resolving for this New Year to get even better at being in love with each other?
Let’s not take each other for granted, but rather give each other a hug/a kiss, go for a walk, go to the gym together, cook a meal together, clean house together, or/and go to church together – after all, when we do things together, we strengthen the unique and special bond that is true and unconditional love. Do not take each other for granted – this causes boredom and stifles love. If this has happened – resolve and remember this:
“Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself. To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night. To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving.” Don’t force yourself into love don’t be possessive, for these are not the traits of love. Love is Freedom.” Khalil Gibran.
Happy New Year!
