A Season of Waiting and Celebrating

This is a great season of waiting and celebrating.

Many people are waiting for the celebration of the Incarnation, the Celebration of Lights, the Celebration of Joy . There is praying, searching and waiting for the need for peace, prayer, gift giving and gift receiving. But maybe in our marriages and pre-marriage, this can be a season of Presence to each other, not just giving presents.. For those beginning a relationship, this can be a season of searching, awaiting, reaching out, sharing, awakening and listening to the signs of the “birth” of this relationship.

For others, it is a sad season. Memories of family members who passed awway, relationships that ended, caring for loved ones who are ill, facing our personal mortality, health physical and mental, and future. For those of us in the Autumn of our lives, it is a season of recollection, memory, listening to the groans of life and enjoying in a whole new way, theexperience of lilving in the NOW.

But all of this is about true Love. Love of l ife, love of our partner, Love of youth and age, and Love of Hope. This is a season of movement, a kind of dance and a process bringing us all hope, freedom from the true meaning of trappings of this commercial season. We are in the midst of the Season of the Cycle of Life – and we are called to celebreate in all of our faiths or non-faiths as men and women from many races, origins, orientations, political biases. We really are One in so many ways – so different and so similar! iWe are asked to celebrate the One who brought about New Llife.

We might want to consider asking ourselves these questions:

  1. How am I present to my partner and is our relationship bringing us joy, fulfillment, and growth?
  2. If this is the season of re-birth then how do I wish to be reborn? What gift will I give myself to accompllish this goal?
  3. If I or someone around me is sad, how can I reach out and be with them as a co traveler, healeer, and journeyer in this season of Life?
